My 5 Easy Spring Edits
Spring always makes me want to fling open the windows, move everything around and give the house a fresh start. The good news is, you don’t need to redecorate every room—a few clever little changes can make your home feel lighter, brighter and ready for the new season.
1. Lighten the layers
Pack away heavy throws and dark cushions, and bring in lighter fabrics such as cotton, linen and bamboo. Even changing the bedlinen can instantly make a bedroom feel fresher—and help you sleep more comfortably as the nights warm up.
2. Add one fresh spring colour
Pistachio green, soft pink, sky blue and butter yellow are everywhere this spring. You don’t need to paint an entire room—a cushion, vase, lampshade or bunch of flowers is enough to give a neutral space a lift.
3. Bring the garden inside
A large branch or handful of greenery can look just as beautiful as an expensive bouquet. Cut something from the garden, pop it into a generous vase and let the shape do the decorating.
4. Restyle before you rebuy
Move artwork, swap lamps between rooms or rearrange the coffee table using pieces you already own. It’s amazing how new your home can feel when absolutely nothing new has entered it—or appeared on the credit card.
5. Create an easy outdoor moment
Give your balcony, courtyard or outdoor table a quick clean, then add a tablecloth, a few cushions and a pot of herbs. It doesn’t need to be a grand outdoor room—just somewhere inviting enough for a morning coffee or a spring dinner.
The best spring refresh isn’t a complete makeover. It’s simply editing out what feels heavy and bringing in a little more light, colour and life.
